Vilnius International Airport – Terminals T2 & T3: Bespoke Solutions for the Schengen Area
Engineering Durability for High-Volume Aviation Infrastructure
At Vilnius International Airport (VNO), we outfitted the T2 and T3 terminal facilities serving Schengen Area travelers. The project prioritized functionality, passenger comfort, and long-term structural integrity within a high-intensity public environment. Our scope included the technical design and manufacturing of bespoke furniture specifically calibrated to airport infrastructure requirements and complex passenger flow dynamics.
Waiting and Seating Solutions
The Schengen transit zones were equipped with custom seating systems engineered for high-volume occupancy and extended lifecycles.
Key Implementations include:
- Bespoke triple-seat benches featuring reinforced metal frames with integrated padded seating and backrests.
- Ergonomic profiles optimized for prolonged wait times.
- High-stability freestanding constructions designed to remain secure without the need for floor anchoring.
Work and Functional Zones
To meet the demands of the modern traveler, specialized “touch-down” zones were created, featuring custom bar-height surfacing for laptop use and brief rest periods.
Key Implementations:
- Integrated workstation counters (bar-height) for digital connectivity.
- Streamlined designs tailored for convenience during rapid transit intervals.
Check-in and Service Points
The project included the production of specialized check-in and service counters, strictly adhering to airport technical and ergonomic regulations.
Key Implementations:
- Custom check-in desks manufactured to rigorous technical specifications.
- High-interaction surfaces engineered for constant staff-to-passenger contact and durability.
Infrastructure and Sanitation Modules
To maintain public order and hygiene, we implemented bespoke waste-sorting systems that comply with strict aviation security and sanitation standards.
Key Implementations:
- Industrial-grade stainless steel recycling units.
- Secure locking mechanisms for restricted access.
- High-visibility sorting indicators for clear passenger guidance.
The Result
The Vilnius Airport T2 and T3 project is a benchmark for specialized public infrastructure where bespoke furniture ensures a comfortable, intuitive, and durable environment for Schengen travelers. Every piece is engineered to withstand intensive usage and facilitate seamless passenger movement while upholding the highest international standards for public spaces.
